Design knitwear collection inspired by Art Nouveau

I am specialising in knitwear design and these are two of my most recent collections, which are inspired by the Art Nouveau movement. Ultimately these collections are aimed at the fashion market and in particularly Snoods. This is a hood/scarf that was originally popular in the eighties but is now making a stylish comeback.

I researched the Art Nouveau movement because I thought the imagery produced at this time would be a great influence when producing knitwear, as the work is high in both texture and colour. I felt these qualities would transfer well and so took inspiration from the work of some of the most influential painters at that point, such as Alphonse Mucha and Gustav Klimt.
